To sell on Amazon UAE, you create a seller account on Seller Central for Amazon.ae with a UAE commercial licence (or a power of attorney if you act for the owner), an Emirates ID, a proof of address document and a bank account for payouts. You then list products, choose how orders are shipped, and pay a referral fee on each sale plus any fulfilment fees.
This guide covers what is specific to the UAE: documents, VAT with the Federal Tax Authority, fees from sell.amazon.ae, and the three shipping options. For concepts that work the same in every Amazon store, such as ASIN matching, listings and the Featured Offer, see our Amazon Saudi Arabia guide.
Who can sell on Amazon.ae and what you need
Amazon's UAE seller page lists these items for registration:
Some categories are open to everyone, some need a business seller account, some need approval first, and some products cannot be sold by third-party sellers at all. Check the category restrictions in Seller Central Help before you buy stock.
VAT and the FTA
In the UAE, VAT is handled by the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) through the EmaraTax platform. According to the FTA, a business must register for VAT when its taxable supplies and imports exceeded AED 375,000 over the previous 12 months, or are expected to exceed it in the next 30 days. Registration gives you a Tax Registration Number (TRN).
Amazon.ae fees are shown excluding VAT, and Amazon adds VAT on top of every fee. Include that VAT in your margin calculation. Speak to a tax adviser about your own registration and filing obligations.
Selling plan and fees on Amazon.ae
Amazon says your cost to sell depends on your selling plan, product category, fulfilment method and other variables. At the time of writing, sell.amazon.ae says Professional accounts are available with no monthly subscription fee for a limited time only.
| Fee | What Amazon.ae states | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Referral fee | Charged per item sold. Most are between 4.5% and 15% by category, with a minimum of 1 AED in most categories | Calculated on the total price, including shipping and gift wrap |
| Easy Ship fee | Starts at 14 AED per shipment, varies by size | You can charge customers up to 10 AED shipping per shipment |
| FBA fulfilment fee | Starts at 7.5 AED per unit, varies by size | Plus monthly storage based on average daily volume |
| Long-term storage | Applies to inventory stored 365+ days | FBA only |
| Other costs | Advertising and optional programs | Only if you use them |
Example category rates on the pricing page include Apparel 15%, Consumer Electronics 7%, and Beauty 8% up to 50 AED and 15% above. Always look up your exact category on the current pricing page.
For a hypothetical 100 AED beauty item shipped with Easy Ship: the referral fee is 15 AED (15% because the price is above 50 AED), shipping starts at 14 AED, and 5% UAE VAT is added to both fees. Your real numbers depend on size and category.
FBA vs Easy Ship vs Self Ship
| FBA | Easy Ship | Self Ship | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who stores stock | Amazon fulfilment centre | You | You |
| Who delivers | Amazon | Amazon picks up from you and delivers | Your carrier |
| Fees beyond referral | Fulfilment fee per unit plus storage | Shipping fee per shipment | Your own carrier cost |
| Prime badge | Qualified FBA listings show the Prime logo | No | No |
| Stock flexibility | Lower: stock sits in Amazon's warehouse | High | High |
New-seller offers (time-limited): sell.amazon.ae currently advertises over AED 175,000 in potential incentives for new sellers, and an FBA New Selection Program with free inbound shipping, free monthly storage, free removals and free return processing for eligible new-to-FBA ASINs, conditions apply. These offers change; confirm the current terms in Seller Central before you count on them.
If you sell the same products on Noon, your own store or Amazon.sa, Easy Ship and Self Ship keep that stock in one place you control, but every sale must update the other channels.
Listing, pricing and the Featured Offer
When several sellers offer the same product, Amazon combines them on one product detail page, and sellers compete for the Featured Offer. Amazon says sellers must meet performance-based requirements to be eligible. The listing and pricing advice in our Saudi guide applies to Amazon.ae too.
Getting paid
Amazon deposits your proceeds into your bank account after deducting fees. Any charges not covered by your seller balance go to the credit card on file. Check your disbursement schedule in Seller Central.
Common mistakes
Pricing without adding VAT on Amazon's fees.
Counting on a time-limited offer as a permanent saving.
Sending stock to FBA that you also need for other channels, then running out elsewhere.
Listing in a restricted category before getting approval.
